Razor

“Would you look at these two? They still think we don’t know what they’ve been up to?” I snort and take a pull from my beer as I stand between Trip and Dane with my eyes narrowed.

We’re having a family day. The ladies rented out this old airstrip. It was a great idea. There’s room for everyone to set up tents and the brothers have been riding up and down the strip having a good time. There are several grills going and a section set up for the kids with kiddie pools, bouncy houses, and other actives.

“I think he’s serious about her,” Trip muses.

“Not serious enough to come to me,” I grumble.

“I don’t think that’s on him,” Dane says. “Overheard her talking to Nina. He wants more. He wants to talk to you, but she’s stalling.”

“Look at him,” Trip chuckles. “He’s fighting with everything he is not to touch her or get too close.”

I laugh. “I feel bad for him.”

“They’re both stubborn as fuck, but I like this for them. He’d be good to her and she’d help him with all that anger,” Trip says like a loving father and uncle.

I shrug. “I don’t have a problem with it. I just want them to come to me and stop playing in my face.”

“You sound like my wife,” Dane cracks up.

I snort and shrug. Teddy reaches to place his hand on Anita’s back and pulls it back at the last second. She turns to him and looks up at him with a dreamy look on her face. I can’t help but laugh at the two.

“This is comical. How long do you think they’ll keep this up?”

“I’m watching to see how it plays out. Again, they’re both stubborn,” Trip says.

“And he gets it from his daddy. Teddy is as alpha and possessive as you are.”

“But we’re talking about my baby girl. She’s not going to keep that mouth shut and bow down to anyone.”

“My wife doesn’t bow to me. None of our wives bow.”

I shake my head. “That’s not what I mean. He doesn’t like her moonlighting. That’s how I figured them out. The kid almost lost his shit when I give her an assignment in front of him. If he can’t get over that, this isn’t going to work,” I say pointing my beer at the two.

“She and Shanita still talking about that business together?” Trip asks.

“I think so.”

“I’ll back it.”

“I was thinking the same thing,” Dane says.

“Yeah, it’s been on my mind. I’m thinking she should retire, but I know telling that little girl not to do something is like telling her to do it. I owe this to Bones though.”

“I find sometimes, they need a little push. You know, the kind where they think it’s all their idea,” Trip says with a smile as he sips from his beer.

“I feel you, brother. I feel you.”

Teddy

“Ow,” I chuckle as Anita yelps and swings when I sneak up behind her. Still laughing, I pull her into my arms and take her lips.

“You jerk,” she hisses against my mouth with no real bite.

“I couldn’t help myself. You looked so cute waiting for me,” I tease and nip her lip.

“Who says I’m waiting for you?”

I lift her onto my waist. “Pretty Girl, don’t get no one hurt.”

She cups my face and pecks my lips. “Look at you, always ready to kick someone’s ass.”

“I’d fight the world over you,” I croon.

I note the look that crosses her face. Before I can ask about it, she kisses me and runs her fingers into my hair. I groan. I love when she does that.

Not able to help myself, I devour her mouth and squeeze her ass. I hate this sneaking around. I’m crazy about this girl.

Although, I get it. We started dating when I was twenty-three. Anita was nineteen.

The connection was undeniable, but we questioned if we could work as more than friends. At the time, it didn’t make sense to go to Razor when we didn’t know what we wanted.

So now here we are, still sneaking around. Everyone’s sleeping. This is the only time we’ll get with each other this weekend.

“It’s so hard to keep my hands off you,” I say into her mouth.

“Aw, you want to hold my hand,” she teases.

“Yeah, I do. I want to hold you in my arms. Everyone should know you’re mine.”

I flick my tongue into her mouth and give one more squeeze before I place her on her feet. Lacing our fingers together, I tug her to start walking with me. She looks up at me and smiles.

“I like having you to myself.”

“You could still have me to yourself if they knew,” I reply.

“Teddy Boy?”

I tug her closer and kiss her temple. “Yeah, baby.”

“We’re happy, right?”

I grasp her face and devour her mouth. When we pull a part she’s breathless. I peck her nose and wrap my arms around her.

“Does that answer your question?”

She grins up at me. “You just proved my point. We’re good, babe. Don’t rock the boat. Want to go to the movies next weekend?”

“I have to work. You think you can spend the night?”

“Shanita and Ashley will cover for me if I ask.” She gives me a pointed look. “I’m still not letting you put your thing inside me.”

I laugh and give her a squeeze. “Haven’t I shown you I can spend the night with you and not have sex? I promise. Dinner and a movie at my place, nothing more.”

“Oh, deal. Just make sure you have my favorite snacks.”

“Have I ever failed you, baby?”

“No, and you better not.”
